K. 'Gus' Dimitrelos, CIS

Gus Dimitrelos is the President and co-Founder of Cyber Forensics, Inc., an international digital forensic consulting and training company located in Casper, Wyoming and Vero Beach, Florida.
Cyber Forensics provides a broad range of digital forensic services and training; facilitating immediate-response services and developing and teaching courses in digital forensics to U.S. government agencies. The firm additionally offers its services to Fortune 500 companies.
Dimitrelos is a lead forensics instructor and course developer for the Department of Justice U.S. Attorney’s Office (DOJ-USAO); the Department of State, Anti-Terrorism Assistance program (ATA); the Department of Defense, Regional Counterdrug Training Academy (RCTA). His firm has trained over 2,000 law enforcement personnel.
As a retired U.S. Secret Service agent, Dimitrelos was a member of the first group of 12 agents to be certified as computer forensics experts in 1996. He was certified in computer forensics by both the U.S. Secret Service and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) that same year. Beginning in 1997, he was put in charge of the USSS/U.S. Treasury CIS 2000 cyber-crimes training program.
Contracted with the U.S. Department of Justice as a Certified Ethical Hacker and Cyber Forensics Expert Witness, Dimitrelos has successfully testified in more than 70 cases in state, federal, and international courts on cyber forensics matters for prosecutors, defense attorneys, and civil lawyers.
Dimitrelos’ background led to many technical special agent roles while in the U.S. Secret Service, including that of supervisor for all 15 Electronic Crimes Task Forces throughout the United States. He also had the privilege of serving as the lead technical security agent for President Bill Clinton and President George W. Bush.
Many of Gus Dimitrelos’ cyber investigations (including more than 3000 forensic examinations) have been featured in Esquire International and Wired magazines, the Discovery Channel, 60 Minutes, Fox News and numerous other media outlet investigations. His interviews and appearances have involved cyber threats against high profile individuals, data breaches, classified data leaks, and acts of terrorism.
Whether the assignment at hand is protecting U.S. Presidents, tracking down a cyber stalker at Sandia Nuclear labs, uncovering a state-sponsored data breach at an oil and gas facility or uncovering the Chinese hackers of a major international airport, Gus is always on the go because (in his words) “Cyber and hackers have no boundaries; nor do I.”
